One of the best things about getting married is that you can do whatever you want. It quite literally is all up to you! Whether you’re looking to have a traditional banquet hall wedding, climb to the top of Mt. Everest or a simple courthouse ceremony. Really, the sky is the limit! If you’ve been following me for a while, you would know that elopements have my heart and soul. They are what start my passion for photography and really took off my career. So they will always have a special place in my heart. When it came time to plan this vintage Vancouver Island elopement, deep down in my heart I knew it was going to be 100% beautiful and epic.
Vintage Vancouver Island Elopement
Okay imagine “vintage courthouse chic” because that’s basically what we were going for. The first portion of this elopement centered around a chic ceremony and mock reception space. Rook and Rose was the perfect setting with contrasting wood tones that gave us that perfect *pop*. Our decor featured ivory florals and greenery mixed with camel hues and accents that were tied together with the table, chairs and candlesticks. Very neutral and minimalistic so that the real focused stayed on our beautiful, bubbly and totally in love couple, Aisling and Justin.
We shared some bubbling cider thanks to Victoria Cider Co. which was delicious! We really wanted Aisling and Justin’s love to radiate and have a hint of those editorial vibes that I obsess over! After, we went outside to recreate that “after wedding” high that you get right when after tying the knot. I can vouch that this is very real by the way – lol. We had Aisling and Justin running down the steps, popping bottles of champagne and even take a celebratory joy ride in a vintage car. Now if this isn’t the ultimate elopement inspo, then I don’t know what is.
Shoutout to all of the amazing vendors who came together to make this day possible – you’re the real ones!
